Why a budget at all? Radical transparency.
Your voice is unlimited because it runs on your GPU — we couldn't meter it if we wanted to. But writing scripts, directing videos and translating dubbing run on our servers, and every request there costs us real money. Your plan includes a monthly AI budget, and the app shows it as a simple 0-100% gauge that goes down with real usage — no made-up currency, no hidden multipliers, no overage bills.
Paid plans are never blocked
If a paid plan uses up its monthly AI budget, generation keeps working: your requests simply join a lower-priority queue and may take longer until the next monthly refill. You are never stopped, and never billed for overage.
On the Free plan, videos are exported in 720p with a discreet "Created with ClonyVoice" watermark and outro. That signature is what keeps the free plan free — and it labels AI-generated content the way the EU AI Act will soon require. Upgrade anytime for clean 1080p exports.
